Me and the moon
Even today, you stand before me,
but in my eyes,
there is “A boy like a celestial diamond.”
Until yesterday,
I considered you the ultimate symbol of beauty,
but he has claimed that title for himself.
Shall I tell you?
I have fallen in love—from the deepest
part of my being,
from my truth,
from my core.
Take my gaze to him,
to my Moon.
In terms of eyes,
there are distances between us.
When he stands under the open sky,
shower him with
kisses to his heart’s content,
gaze upon him with lovely
eyes.
Rain moonlight upon my beloved.
When he looks up at you,
fill your eyes with my share of bashfulness and blush on
my behalf.
Give serenity to his body,
grant solace to his eyes.
Take my prayers from here and carry them to him.
Borrow a little darkness from his dense eyes and drape
it over me—
For my eyes yearn desperately to meet his.
Looking at you,
I console myself that his eyes once
rested upon you,
and leaving you behind,
I steal him
every night.
Ask him: Can a night ever exist without the moon rising?
Can a night ever pass without catching a glimpse of the
moon?
Tell him how many nights I have left unseen.
Take the light from my fading eyes for my beloved,
And wherever he goes,
remain by his side as
illumination.
