God used your face

By Simran Sharma

God used your face as a refuge
to draw me closer to Himself.
He who dwells within you and me
took aim with the target of pure love.

He enslaved my eyes to the arrow-like gaze of yours,
And with every single strike,
He kept piercing deep into my soul.

Your lips,
where the sun left behind its crimson glow,
quench every single thirst of my life.

That God stole all sleep from my life
and poured those dark, dense nights
straight into your eyes.

He snatched my devotion away from me
and hid it somewhere high in the heavens.
The whole world searched for my worship,
but I truly found it right there in your face.
