Not every hour has to leave something behind
Not every road has to lead somewhere.
Some people come and leave us wondering
Why did I give them so much of me?
But love was never made meaningless
Just because it wasn't meant to be.
Some friendships end without a reason
Some efforts never find their way back.
But I was sincere in every moment
And that is something I never lacked.
I spent my time chasing little wonders
The moving leaves, the changing skies.
I found a world in ordinary moments
In things that never asked me why.
I wrote when words were all I had,
When feelings had no place to go.
And even if nobody reads those pages,
They hold the things I needed to know.
I lost my way more times than I remember
And watched my plans drift out of sight.
But even flowers take their own time
And even lost roads meet the light.
I wish I'd spoken when I should have,
Said thank you more, said sorry too.
But every regret left something with me
A little more of what I knew.
I've been the girl who loved and lost,
The girl who stayed, the girl who grew.
The girl who couldn't understand herself
The girl who was still becoming new.
So I won't count my life in endings
Or measure it by what remains.
Some moments left without a future
But none of them were lived in vain.
And if I meet my younger self someday
I'll hold her memories without shame.
She wasn't wasting all those hours
She was living before she knew the name.
And all the time she thought she'd lost
Was still her life, her own to keep.
