How beautiful would it be?
That I'd write poems that the next generation would see
And they'd marvel like An-drew marvel towards it
That when my life is all spent and done
They'd draw inspiration like John Donne from it
A time where my words would shake up hearts like Shakespeare
And I'd have an entire era named after
But in the present I pray that my pen would never falter
Even in the presence of my tears
My words would hold water
Little by little inspire minds that would wander.
I pray for the strength to put the heaviest of emotions on the thinnest of papers
To write love letters to the world in hope that this lover finds peace and that it's war would cease
To pull down structures with a ball pen that can not be put down by a wrecking ball
Little by little like drops of water in the desert I pray to eventually make impact
To rewrite the past before me, define the present and shape the future
I pray my inspiration never dies…
