The Poetic Land invites poets who write in Assamese to the TPL Assamese Poetry Competition 2027. This year’s theme is “Beside the Meji Fire”. Results will be announced on Magh Bihu, 15 January 2027.

মাঘৰ নিয়ৰে তিয়োৱা পুৱা, উৰুকাৰ ৰাতিৰ ভোজ, ভেলাঘৰ, আৰু মেজিৰ জুইৰ কাষত গোট খোৱা মানুহবোৰ। জুইৰ কাষত বহি আপুনি কাক মনত পেলায়? জুইত কি এৰি দিব খোজে, আৰু কি সাঁচি ৰাখিব খোজে?

Dew-soaked Magh mornings, the Uruka night feast, the bhelaghar, and people gathered around the meji fire. Sitting beside the fire, who do you remember? What would you let the flames take, and what would you keep? The golden paddy of the fields, the warmth of home, a dear face you have lost, or a hope for the new year: interpret the theme in your own way.

বিজয়ী কবিতাসমূহ কবিৰ নামেৰে TPL ত প্ৰকাশ কৰা হ’ব, আৰু নিয়ম মানি প্ৰৱিষ্টি দিয়া সকলো অংশগ্ৰহণকাৰীয়ে এখন ই-প্ৰমাণপত্ৰ পাব।
The winning poems will be published on TPL with the poet’s name, and every participant whose entry follows the rules receives an e-certificate.

TPL এ বাছনি কৰা কবি আৰু সম্পাদকৰ বিচাৰকমণ্ডলীয়ে কবিৰ নাম নজনাকৈ প্ৰতিটো কবিতা পঢ়িব। মাপকাঠী: মৌলিকতা, বিষয়ৰ সৈতে সম্পৰ্ক, ভাষা আৰু চিত্ৰকল্প, ছন্দ আৰু গঠন, অনুভূতিৰ গভীৰতা। বিচাৰকমণ্ডলীৰ সিদ্ধান্তই চূড়ান্ত।
A panel of poets and editors chosen by TPL reads every poem without the poet’s name. Criteria: originality, response to the theme, language and imagery, rhythm and structure, emotional depth. The judges’ decision is final.

Results will be announced on 15 January 2027 (Magh Bihu) on this website and TPL’s social media, and winners will be emailed. By entering, you transfer all rights in your poem to TPL, which may publish it on its website, social media and anthologies, always with your name.

প্ৰৱেশ মাচুল: প্ৰতিটো কবিতাৰ বাবে ₹৪৯ (কেৱল ভাৰতৰ কবিসকলৰ বাবে, ভাৰতীয় টকাত, ফৰ্মতে অনলাইনত দিব লাগিব)। প্ৰৱিষ্টি জমা দিয়াৰ পিছত মাচুল ঘূৰাই দিয়া নহয়; কেৱল দুবাৰ টকা কটা হ’লে, পেমেণ্ট বিফল হৈও টকা কটা হ’লে, বা TPL এ প্ৰতিযোগিতা বাতিল কৰিলে ৫–৭ কৰ্মদিৱসৰ ভিতৰত মূল পেমেণ্ট পদ্ধতিলৈ সম্পূৰ্ণ ধন ঘূৰাই দিয়া হ’ব।
Entry fee: ₹49 per poem (poets in India only, paid online in Indian rupees on the form). Not refundable once submitted, except a full refund to the original payment method within 5–7 working days if you were charged twice, money was debited but the payment failed, or TPL cancels the competition.
