The Tale of A Withering God

By Kamarajugadda Ruthvika

Part 1: Birth of the Devotion (Joy)

There comes an exquisite cry!
A cry of the mighty cantillation,
blessing those who stood breathless around the inert
figure.

A massive approbation of cheers
surrounded the cradle,
tears paving their way,
altogether into the thin air. Vanished.

Everyone cried with joy!
“The home has, thus, bloomed with thy smile!” The
baby lord has already reigned over their hearts.

For days and days,
near and dear stayed with their sons and daughters,
looking after the god.

Fathers and their forefathers
solemnly declared, “We will build an abode.”

An abode it is, with a throne and a crown.
For the lord was he who ruled the hearts of his
devotees, just moments after birth.

(Worship)

Hence, the abode was built months after the promise.
They crowned him, chanting the Hebrews.
Everyone cheered!
Hailing and overcome with elation.

“Our lord has come! Hail the almighty!”
Is what they kept screaming in every house and every
street.

Part 2: Reign of the master lord

Years rolled by; Lord grew into a
Master, strong and powerful.
Went on ruling the people,
their hearts and heads.

Living through his youth,
Master challenged those who
questioned his principles.
They felt defeated and vulnerable.

Every elder of the abode, built for him,
Rewrote the truth under his vision.
The truth that lay under the cover
got buried by the experts in disguise.

His majesty, the lord, didn’t fear
opposing those who rose above his rule.
Every one of them fell in heaps.

Youth redefined him, or perhaps,
He defined his youth to his own accord.
Fearless, fierce and amp.
Against all those at odds.

Part 3: Universal Belief

As time went by,
Lord became the universe of thy;
Every atom in the galaxy
Fell on its knees in devotion.

Superior to all, even to the creators,
all the states fell under his power.
Wherever he went, wishes and prayers
echoed along the route.

Forefathers felt pride,
for they created a piece of art
In they’re mind;

That’s what was taught to all the young and old who
believed in their religion.
A religion that belonged
to them.

Belief was taught, or perhaps;
Implanted in their minds, of the people
Or perhaps, of his devotees.

Lord went on with his apathy, and greed.
Step by step, pride took over the abode.
For anyone who tried to down him,
He cast spells upon them, controlled their thoughts.

The master lord, yet again, went on with his apathy and
pride.

Part 4: Fear in disguise

Thus crowned, was the lord,
Ruler of thy hearts and life.
Headstrong, and fierce;
Like the phoenix.

Oppression made its way to the minds,
Of those who devoted their lives.
Every drop of tear, used as a weapon. To fight the weak.

Wretched were the ones, who hailed the lord upon his
birth, yet they fell on their haunches; eyes cold upon
the throne.

Offerings were made, smiles were faked,
Prayers were made carefully,
to please the crown bearer.
Who cared least about its weight.

Hearts were beating, at a pace;
As the lord thundered in their eyes.
States and nations were worn out.
Efforts in vain, to right their master,
Whom they hailed.

Part 5: Withered to death

When their master finally lost his power,
People made threats of downfall.
Youth sprinted quickly,
The middle-aged man,
felt the burden of his sought after halo.

The crown seemed a huge weight,
Years after weaponizing it,
For the sake of his forefathers.

Hails turned into curses.
The throne got turned down,
And the master and the lord;
Was simply reduced to a man.
Who couldn’t afford his own sake.

His abode cursed in gloom,
The air came thick, suffocating him.
Rules died, forefathers got breezed into hell.

Their pride was condemned,
Preachers broke lord’s haunches instead;
Devotion was dispelled, it never divides.
They mistook it for control.

Death loomed in his heart and mind,
Since his power died. Early.
As he was born without any divinity.
Would die, he, without as such.

‘Cause no one bears a crown as the lord’s;
When born out of the womb.
Because, lord never controls.
Rather, teaches to dismantle it.

It was the day, when the master lord in disguise,
Met his mortality,
marking the end of a brief rule.
Ignoring the pleas of people.
