Rainbow Macaws—by Dianna Espinoza

By

Green macaws, scarlet macaws,
Oh how wonderfully do you fly!
Thank you for painting such a sweet rainbow in the sky
With your feathers and songs enchanting us with delight…
As the morning rises, we feel the trees hugging us with their branches
Encouraging us to protect our beautiful nature
That embraces us all,
Teaching us
Unity in diversity,
Like the true web of life.
Ah, let us be amazed..
By the rising sun
At the nascent dawn,
And forget our prejudices
To savor the joy of living
In a spirit of love for our neighbors.
This is my prayer in the middle of the woods,
For my Lord to restore my soul and voice,
As only Christ can do so with His love.
From this moment on, I will carry on
Soaring like the macaws
Who, with their flocks of reds, blues, and greens,
Weave a graceful rainbow to be seen
So let us create a beautiful work of art
Blooming through the mud like the lotus flowers have,
To love Him and our loved ones
As one.
How wonderful it is,
how pleasant, when brothers live in harmony!
Psalm 133:1
