My Paralyzed Pen

By Kamrul Habib

When I wished to write
a tribute for women —
my pen shivered.

Sometimes
I have to write someone’s scream,
a silenced voice,
and the torture they live.

Who is responsible?
What do you think?

“Not me.”

But you are!

Where you should speak,
you stayed silent.

If there were a world
where everyone was simply human,
man would be useless—
as long as women are treated this way.

Am I dreaming too far?

I wanted to write something for women,
but my pen cried —

What should I write?
Whose pain should I write?
Or should I write
so much nothing?
