Drowning

By

In the depths I am drowning, lost & alone.
A silent scream, no voice to call my own.
The weight is crushing,
the darkness feels cold,
as if I am invisible,
my pain untold.

Shadows whisper secrets,
“you’re not enough.”
Echoes of self-doubt
that never seem to shut up.

The world keeps spinning,
oblivious to my pain.
As I put on a mask,
a fragile, forced refrain.

In the mirror’s reflection,
a stranger stares back.
A fleeting thought slips through:
“What is the point?”
It lingers there.

The silence is deafening,
a lonely refrain.
A heartbreaking symphony
with no one to explain.
No one here to listen or care,
to help me through my pain.

So here I am, lost & confused,
there’s no other way.
I must stop listening to you.
