Prophet - by Aivis Grasmanis

By

I am prophet,
I am messiah.
I am seeing day before it happens.
Only trust my visions.
On past dust, on clock,
Stuck time,
Time for changes.
Radiators on rust,
Lost trust,
Found something,
Much worth than words.
Look at the crack in the wall,
Look how it held my name.
I been carrying pieces,
You been calling it shame.
Every old lie bends,
Every hard sign turns.
If you stand too close,
You can see it burn.
Clock stuck time,
Clock stuck time,
Time for changes.
Only trust my visions,
Only trust my visions.
When the dust starts fading,
Lost trust, found gold,
Lost trust, found gold,
More than words can hold.
I kept the receipts in my coat,
Kept the fear in a box.
Every plan went thin,
Every prayer hit locks.
But the floorboard creaked,
Like it knew my face.
And the air went still,
In that broken place.
I said what I saw,
You said, “Prove it now.”
But the sky kept moving,
Like a split-open vow.
Look at the crack in the wall,
Look how it held my name.
I been carrying pieces,
You been calling it shame.
Every old lie bends,
Every hard sign turns.
If you stand too close,
You can see it burn.
Clock stuck time,
Clock stuck time,
Time for changes.
Only trust my visions,
Only trust my visions.
When the dust starts fading,
Lost trust, found gold,
Lost trust, found gold,
More than words can hold.
I don’t need your thin praise,
I don’t need your test.
I found something heavier,
Than the weight in my chest.
Not a crown for taking,
Not a throne for show,
Just a fire in the ruin,
And a name you know.
Clock stuck time,
Clock stuck time,
Time for changes.
Only trust my visions,
Only trust my visions.
When the dust starts fading,
Lost trust, found gold,
Lost trust, found gold,
More than words can hold.
